About Eagle Bluff

Founded in 1978, Eagle Bluff – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – is a year-round environmental learning center providing accredited education programs and outdoor adventures to over 16,000 children, adults, and families each year.

Located along the Root River in rural southeast Minnesota, Eagle Bluff’s beautiful 250-acre campus is a two-hour drive from Minneapolis-St. Paul, within an hour of Rochester, Winona, La Crosse (WI), and Decorah (IA). Nearby Lanesboro and this part of Fillmore County is rich with recreational trails, professional theater and arts events, community festivals, and cultural activities.

As a nationally recognized leader in the field of environmental education, students, adults and families who visit Eagle Bluff experience more than just another school field trip or walk through the woods. By participating in direct observation, skills development, team building, interaction, engagement and exploration of the environment, students and visitors connect with nature on a deeper level, cultivating relationships with and better understanding of the natural world.

Over the past 20 years, our fundraising efforts have grown in scope to include significant foundation grants, a very successful direct mail program, and an annual fundraising banquet which supports general operations and financial aid for our program participants. Eagle Bluff is strategically positioned to enter an exciting stage of growth and seeks a leadership-level team member who will be an integral part of expanding our mission of empowering people to care for the earth and each other.

Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented fundraising professional to fill the newly created position of Director of Individual Giving. This person will have the unique opportunity of joining Eagle Bluff’s growing Advancement team as the organization builds on the success of its 40+ year history of environmental education and experiential programs.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Individual Giving will employ best practices and industry knowledge to broaden and deepen Eagle Bluff’s base of individual support: growing our annual fund by developing and implementing proven strategies; creating and implementing planned, legacy, and leadership giving societies; and deepening our relationships with individuals by maintaining a personal portfolio of donors.

The Director of Individual Giving will be a key member of Eagle Bluff’s Advancement team which also includes the Executive Director and the Marketing Director.
